William “Will” C. Jones, V was an inspiration to all who knew him. A beacon of light, love, and kindness, his life was a testament to the profound impact one person can make.
In just 27 years, Will experienced more than many do in a lifetime—yet it still felt like the world had so much more to receive from him.
Born on September 20, 1994, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Will touched everyone he met with his warmth, positivity, and generosity. Whether through school, work, church, summer camps, or time spent with teammates, friends, and his community, his care for others and desire to give back were only matched by his God-given talents.
These qualities defined who he was, brought him deep joy, and left a lasting impact on everyone around him.

Yet beneath Will’s vibrant smile and impressive achievements, he carried a silent struggle. His once-brilliant light began to dim under the weight of trauma, loss, and growing emotional and mental health challenges—ones that gradually developed into a severe mental illness.
His battle with early-onset psychosis, which we believe was triggered by Delta-9 THC, a psychoactive compound found in cannabis, brought overwhelming anxiety, extreme paranoia, and hallucinations that made him feel as though others were out to harm him.
Faith had always been an important part of Will’s life. During this difficult period, he leaned into that foundation in a deeper way. He expressed gratitude for the peace he found in Christ, thankful that his past brokenness was met by unconditional love and forgiveness.
In honor of Will’s life, the impact he made on others, and the struggles he faced, God’s Will Foundation was created.

William “Will” C. Jones, V was one of the most loving, compassionate, and kind souls you could ever meet. Easy-going, soft-spoken, and deeply respectful, he believed in seeing the good in everyone and was always looking for ways to give back.
Will entered the world with a bright and promising future. As a child, he was active, curious, and full of wonder—approaching life with optimism and a quiet appreciation for everything around him.
Will had a natural gift for connecting with others. Whether through his warm, contagious smile or his ability to make people feel seen and valued, he brought light into every space he entered and carried a deep sense of care for those around him.
Throughout his childhood, Will explored a wide range of interests—from sports and the arts to STEM programs, band, and summer camps—and excelled in much of what he pursued. He developed a strong love for football, playing for his neighborhood park and later on his middle and high school teams. His passion for music also grew over time, beginning with the drums in school bands and eventually leading him to serve as a drummer at his church. As his love for music deepened, he began to explore singing and later recorded music under the stage name “Livm Svnko.”
Beyond his talents, Will’s heart for service stood out. As a young boy, he asked his pastor if he could become a Junior Deacon, stepping into leadership within the church. He later served as a camp counselor for Camp Pelican and NOBTS summer camp, mentored with Young Life, and participated in a mission trip to Haiti — always driven by a desire to help others and make a meaningful impact.

Despite his warmth and outward strength, Will faced internal struggles. Over time, these challenges began to affect his sense of reality, bringing anxiety and emotional weight that he often carried quietly. He was deeply empathetic and felt not only his own pain, but the pain of others.
Several life events left a lasting impact on him, including the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, when he was just 11 years old, and the tragic loss of his paternal grandmother one week before his high school graduation in 2012. As he navigated these experiences, along with the pressures of expectations and a desire to please others, Will continued to show up for those around him—often masking what he was going through internally.
In the fall of 2012, during his freshman year of college, Will began smoking marijuana. What started as a social activity gradually became something more complex. The early signs were subtle, often hidden behind his charm and vibrant personality, but over time, noticeable changes began to emerge.
By the spring of 2022, Will’s struggles had progressed into the onset of severe mental illness. At the time, it was not fully understood that he was experiencing active psychosis.
Even in the midst of his mental anguish, Will leaned into his faith and sought support through prayer and family. On March 27, 2022, he rededicated his life and remained committed to finding peace and grounding during an incredibly difficult time.
The following day, Will left his home in Dallas to stay with family in Indianapolis. While he initially felt a sense of safety and calm, the thoughts that had troubled him began to follow. In the early morning of May 5, 2022, Will walked into the backyard, entered the lake behind the home, and drowned.

In the days following his rededication on March 27, 2022, Will spent time writing and reflecting in a deeply personal way.
His words offer a glimpse into what he was carrying—moments of searching, faith, vulnerability, and a desire for peace and understanding. Through these writings, we see both his spiritual connection and the complexity of what he was experiencing.
We share his reflections in honor of his voice, his honesty, and the depth of his journey.
